Each year, Skytrax, a global leader in air transport ratings, announces its highly anticipated list of the world’s best airports. These rankings, known as the World Airport Awards, are based on feedback from millions of travelers worldwide and offer insight into the quality of airports across various categories, including cleanliness, customer service, safety, and overall experience. For 2024, the rankings highlight the airports that have excelled in providing world-class services and facilities to passengers, with airports from around the globe vying for the top spots. The results are a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the airport teams and serve as a benchmark for the global aviation industry.
The Hamad International Airport in Doha has been named the world’s best airport for 2024 by Skytrax, the leading global air transport rating organization, which presented the World Airport Awards during the Passenger Terminal Expo in Frankfurt on April 17, 2024. In addition to securing the top spot globally, Hamad was also recognized for having the best airport shopping and for being the best airport in the Middle East.
Singapore’s Changi Airport, which held the top position for 12 consecutive years, ranked second this year. Despite losing the top spot, Changi continues to shine with accolades such as the best airport in Asia and the best airport immigration service.
Seoul-Incheon Airport took third place and was recognized as the world’s most family-friendly airport for 2024.
Tokyo Haneda ranked fourth overall and was named the cleanest airport in the world. It was also honored as the best domestic airport, with excellent facilities for passengers with reduced mobility.
Tokyo’s Narita Airport was awarded for having the best airport staff globally and in Asia, further reinforcing Japan’s reputation for excellence in customer service.
Among the top 20, Rome Fiumicino Airport earned 12th place overall, and most notably, it was awarded as the world’s best airport for safety.
The World Airport Awards, considered among the most prestigious recognitions in the global aviation industry, are based on an annual survey in which travelers rate their experiences at airports across a wide range of services and infrastructure, from check-in to arrivals, shopping to security, and departures. This evaluation covers over 550 airports worldwide.
