Prague in Christmas time

Rush before celebration

Once the All Saints Day and Halloween are passed, it’s high time to think about…Christmas! Sounds early but we all know the crazy, tiring rush before the celebration, though planned earlier would leave you spare time to enjoy the splendid atmosphere on the Christmas market in… Prague! There is no better way to relax and at the same time fully enjoy Christmas feeling but during the 4th annual international festival of advent and Christmas music.

Let’s admit, deep down, we all like Christmas and it’s overwhelming character, we all dream about Xmas like in the pictures, with snow, smile and joy. This is possible! Prepare everything earlier, take your family, your friends and go to Prague. This city around Christmas becomes even more beautiful, charming and friendly. Apart from all the decorations, illuminations and various Xmas stands with small presents, warm food and hot wine there are also a whole lot of events going on around the city. Open air concerts, performances held in the Old Town Square, and for the lovers of classical music there are as well choir concerts held in many churches around the city centre.

Winter wonderland is waiting in Prague for everyone, old and young, girls and boys, eating lovers or those keen on sport. Christmas is not only about sitting and eating, you can have a whole lot of fun on snow or…on ice! If you bother to try something new or you have been always dreaming about being as professional couples dancing on ice, Prague is opening the gates of its ice ranks for you. It doesn’t require any equipment or experience to have fun. The open-air ice rank in the Old Town Square is easily accessible, relatively cheap, there is skates rental and you can experience an extraordinary atmosphere. Imagine ice-skating surrounded by all the historical buildings, with Christmas lights and music, holding a hand of your partner, friend or even mum, advent time is all about living a pleasant, warm dream.

Czech Republic capital is told to be settled under a lucky star. As a myth says there was an old druid living in the forests over the Vltava River, back in the times when fields and woods were all you could find in this lands. One night while wandering among trees he had a strong vision and told the villagers to found a city over the river, cause that city and its splendour will reach the stars. Guess, that the foresight came completely true. Visit Prague, let yourself fully enjoy this happy time of expectation for Christmas Eve.
